Er ...  lots of guys use electret condenser microphones with TT radios. 
  Pin 2 provides 10v for bias voltage.    TT has sold both types of 
microphone for a long time.   Guys who use computer type headsets are 
usually using electret condenser
type microphones, and loads of TT mavens like the Yamaha CM-500 
headset.  So it is not uncommon for TT fans to employ condenser 
microphone capsules.
