I second that motion...
There are lots of things to love about the OII but the spectrum display is
not one of them. If you have never had a radio with that function if does
add a bit of awareness but if you have used any of the Icom radio's with
that same functionality you will realize how archaic it really is. That
said...I wouldn't trade my OII for an Icom with the exception of maybe the
7800 and I would have to think long and hard about that....
There are times I turn it off and swear I hear a slight improvement in the
DSP functionality...anyone else noticed that? I think they share DSP
horsepower.

Subject: Re: [TenTec] Orion II Firmware Version V3.029--unresolved issue(s)
Mike - I'm curious about just what you think isn't right about the
spectrum display frequency. I have 3.029 installed on my O2 and the
display looks just as it should - LSB signals to the left of center, USB
to the right, CW just about centered. I guess I'm amazed that anyone
would even use the O2 spectrum display, let alone try and make any
frequency determinations from it. While I love my O2, I must say that
the spectrum display is on the other side of dreadful. I might glance
at it to see if there are any signals on the band at all, but even then
I wouldn't make a decision based on what I saw. Looking at the same
apparently dead band using the IF output and an SDR-IQ usually reveals
many weak signals. I'd like to see Tentec not spend another millisecond
on anything to do with this spectrum display implementation. The
resolution just isn't there and the delay between hearing and seeing a
signal on the display makes it just about useless.

Hi,
I was wondering if I am the only one who thinks there is at least one
unresolved issue in this latest version of firmware. I'm not talking
about things that you'd like to see, but things that just aren't quite
right yet.
For me, the fact that the spectrum display peak does not line up with the
actual frequency on LSB and CW modes is rather annoying. I was hoping
that if this is the only unresolved issue for V3.029, a quick update can
be made and Ten Tec can begin to work on new features.
