Hi all...you guys just finding this stuff out..I have made numerous
comments in the past 2 years on this reflector to the amazing ability of my
Orions......

just a few days ago I fired up two fo them on 20m cw...barefoot...on 14.005
and 14.030 ...just 25 kcs away from each other into separate antenna
systems...either could tranmit and would NOT
hear any noise from the other...now that is AMAZING....the ARRL has
published transmitter specs...and the Orion is at the top of the
list...just like Sherwood Engineering the Orion is in the top 6 there...

Try my experiment with yaesu, Icom or for that matter any others and you
will will be inundated with transmitter noises.....

Even in lieu of the results I have acheived with TenTec radios, I am
searching for methods to improve the ability to hear within band..in other
words at 1500 watt levels to allow a second station to hear
at very low signal levels while another is transmitting..hence we have
purchased a very particular crystal filter for 20 meters that will have 80
db of rejection out of bandpass...this filter will hopefully
allow a station to transmitt on 14.010 and just 20 khz away reject the
second in band transmitter...more on that project in the next few months as
we work out the minute details necessary ....
