I am not an expert on radio circuit design, but I
am sure it would help if those who do had more
information about your rig and station.

What microphone are you using?
What type of mic - electret condenser or
        dynamic type ?
How far away from it do you speak?
What is your mic gain setting?
What is your mic monitor setting?
What EQ settings (if any) are you using?
Is there a TX bass roll off setting? If so, what?
Are you using VOX?
Is there a speech processor on the rig?
        If so, what setting?
Are you using external processing gear,
(e.g., EQ, noise gate, compressor, etc.?

Maybe more aspects are relevant, but these
are just a few things that come to mind that
might possibly affect microphone input levels
and operation of ALC.

Hello all, I am having a problem with my Jupiter on AM.
The ALC seems to clip my audio on voice peaks. I have
the drive at 25 watts and tried various settings with
the mic gain. Another note, sometimes with the mic gain
completely off my test station says he can still hear me
but the clipping is not so bad. And another question,
When I use the AUTO-SET for the AM mode it will
put the power bar about half inch up on the scale but
not power output until I adjust it to 25 watts. All is
ok on ssb.
So, anyone have a clue about this one ??
