Yes.

Almost ten years ago, I bought a dedicated desoldering tool -- a Hakko solder sucker. I think I've used it no more than 3-4 times, but these were the times that solder wick just wasn't enough, and I am REALLY glad I had it. :) I wish I'd had one 50 years ago when I was working on a service bench.
