I agree with Barry.
If I'm a buyer I want it cheap thus I can repair it and make a nice profit
when I sell it.
If I'm the seller I want maximum dollars for my product thus it must be in
tip top condition.
As a seller, to maximize dollars, I'd sell each piece for a price. As the
buyer I want the package as cheap as possible.
It just depends on how one views the project and their objectives.
