I replaced the plate choke in my QRO Technologies HF-1000 amp with the MFJ
plate choke.
That was about 10 years ago. As I recall, it was just under $30, and worked
great.

Has anyone mentioned that MFJ sells the Plate Choke they use on their
amps? The plate choke uses a ceramic form 1 inch diameter and 5.5 inch
long. It has three connected coils to break up resonances and appears to be
very well made. I have one but I don't remember what the cost was. I think
it was about $30.

The first thing I recommend is determine why the existing choke failed.
Unless you correct the cause, the effect will be the same with a replacement
choke, no matter who the mfr/supplier is.
