I HOPE TEN-TEC IS READING THIS!
I hope they do two mods to the 318 BEFORE the next production run:
1. Peanut point but important: Dim the brightness of the LED. My 318 is
raised to eye level and it blinds me at night. I covered it with scotch tape
and painted it with a sharpie to dim it. Eventually I'll add a resistor.
2. Please add a means of open-collector keying for the amp, and a switch to
turn the relay off. My unit's relay was making as much noise as the linear
amp's big open-frame relay. I removed the internal relay and just use
transistor keying now, which is totally silent (and faster).

The 318 amp interface is available on special order. One will need to contact
either Sales or Service as it not shown on the website. I recall the price

The 318 was cancelled for a very very short period of time, just before this
MegaSale. We had sold about half a dozen over a years time, and selling that
few does not make good business sense to do another production run.
But, even when it was cancelled, when someone called service, Paul would build
them to order as parts were available. They have taken a couple of orders this
way already and shipped product.
Now, to today, I talked with Jim and Stan and Paul this AM and they are going
to add the 318 back as a product. We can take the order over the phone, but
since we are transitioning to a new eCommerce handler in conjunction with
Alpha/RFConcepts, it may take a while before it is visible online again. Until
then, phone sales.
We are also going to have another production run of the 318. Until that
production run, we will still take orders for it, and will build them up in
service until current stock for their parts run out. All depends upon demand
how quickly they will run out of stock. But the production run is scheduled, so
more will be made later this year, early next year.

Searched the TenTec site for the 318 Amp Keyer but turned up nothing; do I
have the model number right? Is this a discontinued product or something?
