Turn the MON function ON at the radio and see what it sounds like. Should sound and be very clean. If nothing is heard then there is likely a problem in the radio or the audio is not reaching the Line Input.

Thank you Bob,

The computer is selecting the correct sound card. It does receive properly from the LINE
OUT on the read ACC1 of the OMNI VII.

I tried setting it to LINE INPUT and upped the gain to 65%

I have plenty of audio coming out of the computer. I verified this by pulling out the 1/8" plug
and listening to the internal speakers.

I can key the transmitter OK via RS232 with both FL-DIGI and WSJT-X with no problem.
However I still get zero watts out in USB mode.

I think this going to take some troubleshooting with a scope to see whether the audio is
reaching the LINE IN on the OMNI VII.

Very strange.

First we presume you are connecting via the AUX DIN connector on the rear
panel. And via the MENU you have selected AUDIO SOURCE to be LINE. Then
the next line below on the MENU the LINE GAIN set to about 35% to 50%.

The interface must provide a PTT command to this connector as well.

Yes, you will need RS-232 communications to get frequency info and control other functions on the radio. For RS-232 communications, I've abandoned all efforts to use a USB to RS-232 interface and opted to install a real RS-232 card in the computer with a fully populated DB-9 to DB-9 cable between the
radio and the computer. Lif is so much easier.

For audio, I use either the Tentec 712 USB Soundcard interface or the
SignaLink USB interface very successfully.

Since WSJT-X stopped working, I'd suspect the configuration in the computer
is not selecting the correct sound card.

Be sure the CAT software is not using a hardware PTT command and thus one
would use the PTT command from the soundcard. If all else fails for PTT,
just use VOX.
