It may be "fried" but I seriously doubt it. I was able to work into VK this 
morning on 40m
with JT65 and I am now getting 30 - 50 watts output. 

The fault may be in the amount of signal WINDOWS 8 is allowing to come out of 
the laptop.

I am trying to find if there is some level that is pulled down but everything I 
see is at 100%

So far so good. I don't want to get 100 watts out and I think that I probably 
don't want any 
ALC action while running digital modes. The speech processor actually helps  
alittle in my 
case.
