A 45 MHz IF is not the end of the world.... my first choice would be to use
a higher end Dongle with 12 bit resolution (cheaper Dongles are only 8
bit.)  They'll at least give you a usable, if not fancy, panoramic display.

If you are technically inclined, it is also possible to use a simple down
converter to bring the 45 MHz 1st IF down into a HF range that is usable
with the L-PAN2 or other similar panoramic adapters.
