Arrrgh! Dallas time chips??

I ran into this on my Paragon II. Ordered two chips on eBay, and received
junk that had older date codes than what I was trying to replace from idiot
Chinese vendors with no scruples.

I finally got a usable chip from Futurlec.

If someone is skilled, talented, and has good eyesight and is willing,
those old chips can be opened up; and the internal lithium cell replaced.
The internal chip has a lead for external battery backup, which has been
folded back and connected to an internal lithium cell.

Either the internal cell can be replaced, or the connection to the outside
world reestablished, to enable using an external lithium cell for the chip.
