Howard,
I am using 3.032x5 V2 July 2013.
Switching to Ant 2 does not solve the problem. NB/NR/Notch/SAF/AN are Off as
is the SAF/Notch tracking.
Also, there is no audio for the Sub receiver (or internal speaker) when
headphones are used. Left/Right Audio is set to BOTH.
The BARGRAPH immediately to the right of VFO B Frequency does not move when
the sub receiver is used. The Bargraph does function cuz it switches to SWR
in transmit. The thin bar below the Bargraph does move when Sub AF
knob/encoder is adjusted.

Subject: Re: [TenTec] Orion Sub Receiver getting no signals
Hi Everybody,
The 'audio switch' that you refer to is actually done in the Main RX dsp.
The only way to control it is with the AUDIO menu, where you can choose
the signals for the Speaker, the Right Aux Out, and the Left Aux Out. The
choices for each one will be Main, Sub, or Both.
The Main RX DSP Codec inputs are the Main RX 14 KHz IF, and the MIC input.
The Outputs are Transmit 14 KHz IF, and the Speaker.
The Sub RX DSP Codec inputs are the Sub RX 14KHz IF, and the Aux Input.
The Outputs are the Left Aux Output and the Right Aux Output.
The Main RX DSP sends its digitized receive audio to the Sub RX DSP, and
the Sub RX DSP sends its digitized receive audio and the digitized Aux
Input to the Main RX DSP. This is needed so the Sub RX received audio can
be heard on the Speaker, and the Main RX received audio can be on either
or both of the Aux Outputs. The Main RX needs the Aux Input so it can be
used as an audio input.
So, yes, it is even a little more convoluted that it first appears. By
the way, the Orion II does it a little differently, and there is a 6
channel audio mixer that routes the signals where they need to go. Maybe
that was what you remembered as the 'audio switch'.
I would suggest that you try using the ANT 2 connector, and see if that
changes the Sub RX. Be sure to set the PWR control to OFF so you don't
inadvertently try to transmit into a no antenna condition.
Also, be sure that the NB, the NR, the NOTCH/SAF, and the AN are OFF for
the Sub RX. Also be sure that the SAF/NOTCH tracking between the Main RX
and the Sub RX is off.
Finally, would you report the firmware version that is currently installed
on your Orion. You can see this by pressing and holding the MENU button
until the Startup Screen appears.
