Ron,

I'd check the multitude of small connectors going to the boards in the front 
panel area. Mine was doing some random squirrely things and reseating 
connectors as noted seemed to take care of the problem. (Theory here is the 
possibility that one of the connectors was moved or disturbed during the 
backup battery replacement.)
