Finally, a chance to dig in the cables

The cable from the Orion II is labeled

98547 Rev N/A
Sample
05/12/03

The cable to the Herc II has no label. The connector to the 311 is a DB-25.
There is a short stub (approx. 6") with another DB-25 from that first
connector. There is a longer cable with a connector that matches the Herc II. I
would bet that this is the same cable that was used with the OMNI 6 Plus to the
Herc II, but I cannot be sure of that. When I bought the 311, both cables came
with it.

I hope this info is some help as the combination of rig and amp is a great one.

Yes, I am NRA certified as a range safety officer and a pistol instructor. At
age 72, my hand is no longer as steady as I'd like and my groups are larger
than I want. I shoot the Sig 320 full size in 9mm, A Remington R1 1911 enhanced
in 45 ACP, a Glock 21 in 45ACP (don't like the trigger) and my favorites are
all S&W revolvers. They include a 617 in 22LR, a 686 in 357 Mag and a 29 & 629,
both in 44 Mag.

Dave, I do a little shooting myself, great fun. Are you a NRA instructor?

Do what you do, no hurry here.

Andy,
I work today & tomorrow, but will dig behind the rig as soon as possible to get
the numbers off those cables. Today is a 12-hour day as a range safety officer
at a shooting range & tomorrow I teach a pistol course for a local club. Long
hours, but another of my passions.
I'll also dig to see if I have any manuals or info on the 311.

Hello Dave, Tnx for the info on the 311 box. Hope I can find one. I will
continue to look for cables. I know that I can make them if I had the part
numbers for the connectors. Were there any part numbers on the cables you
bought?

You must know my good friend Jay Rodaman K2TTT. I Lived in NJ 30 yrs ago and
met Jay at the Splitrock club. He has been doing my taxes ever since. I do use
the FRC cluster.

Tnx agn, if you find anything I need let me know pse.

Andy,
I'm using the Orion II, Hercules II & 311 interface. Works great & I love it.
The 311 & cables are hard to find used. Set me back $110, but well worth it

p.s. I can work any DXpedition & am part of the FRC contest Club. Running the
Herc II at 450 watts is all that's necessary for success.
I'd love to see an Orion III & Herc III solid state full legal combo come out
of the new TenTec

Hi folks,

Recently purchased an TT Hercules ll Amp. Now I need some help and or
suggestions.

Has anyone ever married the Oll to the Hercules ll amp using the band data
switching so that the amp will follow the Oll band.

I know that TT had a 311 box for the Orion, but not the Oll.

The Herc manual is not to informative.
