The fact that Ten-Tec used aluminum when steel would have been cheaper is
interesting, especially since steel is much better at attenuating magnetic
fields. Perhaps they just had a bunch of aluminum around, so they used it.
It is much easier to cut and bend than steel.

One thing is for sure - Ten-Tec wouldn't have put that shield in there
without a good reason!

I'm going to start by replicating the Ten-Tec shield, but use steel rather
than aluminum. I may get some Mu Metal to experiment with - there is
someone selling sheets of it with damaged corners on eBay for a good
discount. Will post my results.
