If the AGC is working, you will not be able to easily perceive if the signals 
are weaker one one versus the other.

You need to compare the level of a given signal versus the noise level adjacent 
to that signal. It is best to do this with the AGC shut off. 

Compare the two Omni 5’s and determine what the noise level is on both with 
given pot settings and then tune to a weak signal and compare again.
