DeOxit Gold is good cleaner. I don't have any marvelous or magic potion
to suggest. I do find that many of the Caig Laboratories products are
considered to be good to excellent when applied correctly.
As with all of my recommendations, do not spray anything into the radio
or other equipment. Apply the cleaner via some non-spraying means to
the specific item to be cleaned and lubricated. Some of the ingredients
in cleaners will or can damage certain parts, i.e. plastic etc. Used
correctly and sparingly, there will be no harm done.
I've had radios sent to me for repair {when I was repairing radios} that
were literally dripping with sticky, gooey, greasy contact cleaner.
Nothing short of an entire bath in solvents would get the stuff off.
Yes, you can give a radio a bath. And I hate to get my hands dirty when
working on radios as I view it isn't necessary. Electronic equipment
should be clean, very clean, inside and out.

unless one has confirmed a hard failure, such as burnt components or
failed components. I've spend many hours chasing an issue only to find
