Hi lightning is a bummer. Was the Tv cable grounded to meter loop ground? If
not you might have cable company bring it up to code. Around here most
installs where done the easiest way , sometimes grounded with a 4 foot 3/8s
ground rod . Always if possible ground to meter loop . That goes for those
satellite dishes too.
Insurance company might not pay if not installed correctly. Have a few
companies here that are looking at grounding of equipment.

Sorry for off the topic offer.
Lightning got into the house via Comcast copper line. Fortunately all of my ham
gear survived the encounter.
Sadly it did toast a TV, Apple TV and Comcast modem. Naturally Comcast said
they’d replace the modem but that was it.
With all that wailing done, I’m assuming the Apple TV remote survived. If
someone can use it send me an email, w5bxe@sbcglobal.net.
