A serious pile-up...160M style. Heard the group calling starting at
around 0900Z. No signal from the VK9 heard until 0930Z and then only on
the Beverage. The vertical and the inverted V could not hear the VK9.
Finally worked him at 0948Z..but his signal would drop several S units at
a whack..then return to 579 or so at the best.
Agree with KL7Y about possibility or auroral causes or more likely
something loose on the antenna system there accounting for the varying
signal strength. He was calling for 5 up, but he worked me 4 up.....
Guess its time to turn my single elevated radial toward EU.
Thanks to N6TR for going to the coast RF-less ensuring this activity.
73 and I remain,
