Hi Joe et al
Here in the UK at least "baling string" is ALL designed to bio-degrade (ie
rot, break down due to UV) as it gets thrown into the muck heap when the
bales are broken. The very early stuff was not and made a real mess when the
muck was spread on the fields.
It also has very poor insulation properties... leaks like hell when wet and
just burns up when dry, given sufficient RF voltage of course, the effects
are less spectacular but equally lossy when used with lower powers.
On top of that it is very susceptible to abrasion, it will rub through almost
overnight if its windy.
All this from direct experience BTW, learnt the hard way not from books!
Growing up on a farm means loads of "free" baling string being available!
