Those who don't have Beverage or EWE or K9AY or Pennant/Flag
receiving antennas should try some of their other non-160 meter
antennas for receiving. They sometimes provide signal-to-noise
improvements!
I've found the low 80m inv-V and tribander to be improvements on my
160m Inv-L when receiving during certain noisy conditions. In a pinch,
almost anything could work!
