Greetings from Bellevue Nebraska, from the bottom of a hill (more like a hollow
with hills all around). I put up the usual inverted L, from a 50 foot tree at
the edge of the house lot, meaning all radials (5) were spaced out in a 90
degree area of about 50x50 feet, I did not have any TV twin lead so i used for
all radials, feed line and the antenna proper, #26 solid twisted pair telephone
wire. surprising to hook a 40 watt light bulb to the end of the feed line and
light it up from the hw16 in the house!

talk about conditions, they were great from Nebraska. sorry to all of you who
called me and did not connect, i would get confused, especially early the first
morning. i went to bed at 5am, too many calling i could not write them down
fast enough.
the homebrew (6SK7 type) receiver worked well, but i plan to modify the front
panel to include a calabrated dial, sorry W4AN, when i did stray into the DX
portion of the band.
I did send some RST reports to some of you and (W6AT) did get some back. it
added about 3-4 seconds on a contact return so i did only occasionally sent
actual reports.

sounded a good time was had by all. time to put my 160 meter rig in the
daughter's storage shed, until next contest
