Well, meanwhile I got some info.
I want to build the amplifier myself so, there is no need for info about
(expensive) ready made amps.

Jim, thanks for referring to the G3YXM amplifier. (looks simple, as it
should, hi)
Wonder if there are more people having info about home-made low-budget solid
state amplifiers
in the kW class.
Especially what FET's can be used?

I do have 2 switch-mode power supply's each capable of producing 50V/28A, so
it might be an good
idea to use FET's that will operate fine on this voltage........
Something with 2 or 4 devices on 50 might do the job..

Also info/experiences with protection circuits is welcome (SWR?)
