Not mobile, but maybe some of this info will be useful.

The following was the most efficient screwdriver styled antenna I could figure
out for my apartment dweller situation.

I use a Hi-Q 5/160 (screwdriver style) located on my 2nd floor apartment roof.
It has 16 radials 13 foot long under it laying on the roof (at 20 feet)
The base (containing the motor) is 2 foot tall
the coil is about 5inches x 12 inches
it has a 1 foot mast over the coil,
with the Hi-Q EB-8 (eggbeater 8) top hat.
So the overall height is 13.5 feet

Band coverage is from 160m-20m
actually 1.500mc - 14.400mc
Using the MFJ 1922B turns counter....
there are a total of 420 turns (as counted) when using the whole coil
1.800mc uses about 314 turns

Efficiency is said to be about 1.3%
So running 100w = 1.3w ERP
Antenna is capable of full legal limit
so good luck with Mobile DX and
a very good luck finding one that will cover 160m - 6m
Please keep me/us informed with your adventure.

P.S.
I did make Alaska from Central W. Texas a couple of months ago with CW.
also Costa Rica and Panama with SSB. Both with a 100w rig. Guess that's
actually
QRP with 1.3w ERP hi hi.
