Forgot and top posted
so my last email probably didn't get through
OK now I was able to extend the length of the wire to 425 feet.
I have attached the zmatch box:
31 TURNS TO WIRE ANTENNA AND GROUND
10 TURNS TO COAX CENTER AND SHIELD
TO PREAMP TO FT1000MP RX ONLY INPUT
I suspect I have allot of common mode noise on the coax, but cant be sure if it
is this or if it is increase in overall efficiency.
I can see a considerable difference with the noise level compared to the
vertical I was using. Some local signals right now are
around 5 to 10 S units stronger than they are on just the vertical in an A B
test.
For this time of day for me in Texas 30 Miles West of Ft Worth it is not quiet
time for DX results. The noise sure is louder
however, so perhaps this is a good sign.
I did not terminate the wire at the far end yet.
The direction(s) are almost East and West at this point in time.
Dont have an antenna analyzer to tell me if the impedance is correct, just
trial and error.
