Re Bill's Comment -
Altho am mostly off Tests these days, always had the thought that a "unique"
info item would be preferable to the 59907 that was/is the status quo.
Obviously the Stew format does exactly that for TB. Sending 599 is sort of
ingrained in our psyche, as it were. I may be less of an accurate copier,
as the few Stews have attempted had more broken Grids than had expected!
That was a sure signal that my ears aren't all that great after-all!
Probably the affect of too many hours straining for weak EME sigs in the
noise (pre WSJT Opr hr).
However, in that getting the DX ops clear copy of one's own call is, as it
should be, THE needed item, sort of makes the 599 superfluous. But, that we
are ingrained to send 599EJ88 is likely the process to be used, or even
serial numbers do away with the need to copy accurately!
Now, try to push a new system thru - that will be a challenge for us all!
Happy hunting!
