My late 2 cents worth.  I have a local 2 miles away who is 60 over on 160. 
With my beverage he is down to 40 over.  When he was on I had loud images 
all up and down the band.  When I added the roofing filter to the FT 1000D I 
could operate within 5 kHz of his signal.  Like magic.  GL  73  Saul  K2XA
