There are heavy rubber caps/ w. hose clamps available that will cover the ends 
of plastic pipe. Allows for easy removal and minimal fussing with sealing. I 
bring my cable(s) in thru the rubber.

< A short length of SH 40 PVC pipe with end caps works good. Cement only
one end cap. Mount any connectors/screw terminals to the pipe or
cemented end cap. Tape seal the other end cap and keep the assembly
vertical with the tape sealed end up. You will have easy access to the
enclosed hardware.
