In addition to plastic conduit I have motion detectors monitoring the
complete coax run to the antenna(s).
These things work really good. You can get them on the same frequency so the
alarms can be heard in different buildings...(a rx in my shop and another in
the house on same freq)
I have 2 more monitoring the driveway....I have a 400' driveway and a really
solid home....I can't hear much unless it is a huge thunderclap.
I get a lot of folks that for some reason will not ring the doorbell but
knock lightly on the door....or they say that they do.
These detectors put a stop to that too.
You can get em' at Harbor Freight.

Most of the critters around here die of lead poisioning.

When I was in Florida I had trouble with rabbits eating my plants. I had
some jalapeno peppers that I had left on the plant too long and they turned
red. My green jalapenos were real flame throwers and those red ones were
orders of magnitude hotter. They put habaneros to shame. They were totally
uneatable. I thought I would make some sauce out of them and spray it on
the things I didn't want the rabbits to eat. A couple of mornings later I
went out to get the peppers and noticed there were 3
or 4 that were half eaten. So much for that idea.

The only solution I have for wires is to bury them in conduit. I even had
problems with direct burial coax after it was first buried. Coyotes would
see that the ground had been disturbed and dig up the cables and chew them.
Current problem is foxes. They love duct seal.
