Go to your trash transfer station and root through the consumer electronics. A
lot of stereos, tv cable converters and dvrs have 12v power supplies you can
lift out on separate boards. If the cans aren't bulged they are probably ok.
Same goes for junk microwaves, most of which have identical low dc voltage
supplies - separate from the hv that goes to the magnetron. They come complete
with bypass caps for the AC line current. And 12v relays too. You can also get
buckets of 12v coil relays from washers and dryers.
If all else fails most goodwill stores have a misc cables and wall warts
section where you can get all the dc voltages imaginable as wall chargers for a
buck or two.

Amazon has many different types ranging from wall warts to dedicated heavy
duty supplies. I would think the wall wart would be enough to key relay and
they are inexpensive.

Great question, Craig! I asked this question a few months ago here:
ham.stackexchange.com/questions/8940/what-is-the-cause-of-this-unusually-long-period-of-terrible-hf-band-conditions
It is NOT what the answers there claim. I have done extensive research on
this. And when I get the time and motivation again, I'll share what I have
found.

An inquiring mind would like some "ed-u-macation." I missed K9LA's
presentation at W9DXCC this year.

To put it simple terms:
Sun(spot) activity is low, atmo/ionosphere layers height has shrunk.
RF mirrors/ducts are?lower, propagation is squished (sucks).
I remember 1958 when I could work the whole world at the same time with
10W?Wehrmacht tank TX and (Windom) piece of wire for 24 hours?on 10m!
Highest sunspot activity in my lifetime, never repeated since.
