Ron that was a mighty impressive haul you made. Ive set my alarm clock
for 1030z to try for myself ! :) My 160 qtr wave INV-L ( apex 52') is
in the summer ( lawn mowing) configuration. ie all radials are coiled
up and hanging from the walnut tree that supports my antenna....BUT
the single ground rod and decent midwestern soil seem to perform well
enough, altho the resonant point and swr are quite different than with
radials out. In winter I unfurl 26 radials that are between 130' and
45' long ( property line limitations) . I found the swr and resonance
stopped changing once I hit 26 radials.
