Aloha,
Well, with apologies to Oscar Hammerstein, 2nd.
"When I was a boy, what waw what was what,
What was so was so.
But now I am a man, and some things are nearly so,
and some are nearly not!"
And what I read in the Antenna Book, well, maybe nearly not.
Thanks to Pete and John for making us more physics types better
informed!
I grew up in the physics and math departments of my university(Stanford):
Lamb, Shiff and Bloch were very busy guessing solutions to
the Shroedinger equation, and winning Nobel prizes at the time,(some
decades ago!)
so my transmission line education perhaps was lacking!! And I
was more interested in solid state behavior at the time.
I no longer will assume that one can realize less loss using
parallel coax lines rather than hard line!
73 and good propagation, whenever it returns!
Jim, KH7M
