The purpose of the rotation of the plate is to put EQUAL forces on each guy wire; rotation of the plate stops when the forces are equal. Thus, the smaller guy DOES get a large increase in force, it seems to me! But, then, if I KNEW all the answers, I wouldn't be posting the question!
