A few weeks ago I completed a "Christmas tree" stack of WARC antennas. They
play very well and I'm happy with their electrical performance.
I brought the mast down through a TB-3 bearing at the tower top and through
a second TB-3 bearing inside the tower to an HDR-300 rotator. The system
turns very easily and smoothly ---- it seems a little too smoothly.
After releasing the turning switch on the HDR-300 the antennas and mast will
coast for 20 - 40 degrees before slowing down enough for me to feel
comfortable enough to engage the brake. In a wind, the problem is exaggerated.
I'd like the system to coast to a stop sooner and make antenna positioning a
little less challenging.
Has anyone else had this experience? Solutions?
Thanks,
Ralph - K0IR
