Yes, that's essentially correct. The main cable runs from the winch to a
pulley at the top of the fixed bottom section. From there, it goes down into
the tube alongside the middle section. I'm not exactly sure, but I think the
cable runs across apair of pulleys at the bottom of the middle section, then
back up the side of the tube to an attachment point somewhere near the top
of the bottom section. In any event, as the main cable is wound onto the
takeup reel, it pulls the middle section up. The second cable is attached to
the top of the bottom section. From there, it goes over a pulley at the top
of the middle section, into that tube, down alongside the top section, at is
attached at the bottom of that section. It is arranged so that as the middle
section goes up, it pulls on the second cable to raise the top section.
