Ameritron should be releasing a new tuner soon. I designed the tuner,
and sent them the prototype a few months back.
It features an edge wound silver-plated roller coil (measured Q~300
the highest on the market!), gear driven turns counter, high
capacitance in the caps (for better power handling on low bands), 3
KW TRUE peak reading (or average) meter, and other features.
The unit should retail for about 550 bucks. That isn't cheap, but
it's a very nice piece that easily handled 3 kW for hours on end
during test sessions.
