Well, not as a really noticeable change in antenna system gain. However...


A major improvement may be gained in front-to-back and front-to-side, which
in the receiving mode, may be worth it's weight in gold in a contest. It may
also reduce local noise pickup, invaluable as well.

Is anyone really arguing about putting baluns at beam feedpoints any more?
Especially considering how inexpensively they may be bought.
