Tower Talkers,
There have been several posts that concern the 2:1 bandwith of our 40 =
meter antennas. We make three different types of 40 meter elements. =
The shortest of these does indeed have a 130 kHz. bandwith. To =
characterize all of our 40 meter beams as having this available bandwith =
is inaccurate. =20
We do market our EF240 yagi type of antenna that uses our longer EF140 =
element and repeatedly displays a minimum 2:1 bandwith of 170 kHz. =20
Finally, we have a EF240X that uses the 140 elements on a longer boom, =
that easily provides a minimum of 250 kHz. of 2:1 bandwith. At my =
location, a 240X has been in use for 4 years with exceptional results, =
except for the "bird of prey" scenario during CQWW CW last.
73,
Natan W6XR/2
