Hi Tom,

Lexan is an excellent choice. It machines well, and doesn't propagate cracks
like other similar looking plastics (acryllic, etc.).  BTW, Lexan is a
proprietary name.  The generic name is "Polycarbonate" . There is a uv
resistant form available, but it is quite a bit more expensive - check with
your suppliers on that.  I've taken to painting my clear polycarbonate  using
Polyurethane black paint.  From what I've read and heard, this kind of paint
is probably  one of the most durable for long term exposure to the elements
and is quite readily available.  I would be interested in hearing
knowledgeable comments about the choices of paints (coatings) for use on
antennas.
