Not only shouldn't you use RG-59 connectors on RG-8X for reasons already
stated, but remember RG-59 is 75 ohms and RG-8X is 50 ohms. There are
differences between a 50 ohm and a 75 ohm BNC connector (assuming they
are precision connectors) to maintain constant impedance, and you should
never try and interconnect the two, lest you have problems! The same
holds true for type "N" connectors, but for so-called "UHF" connectors
they are the same for 50 and 75 ohm cables.
