Hello Phil,

The spiral formed solid copper outer shield went out of
production in middle to late 70's. It would hose water along its length,
if water got under the outer jacket.
Type was FHJ5-50 for the 7/8 variety

Connectors are NOT interchangable.....

The modern type is LDF5-50A for 7/8" and has annular rings formed
in the outer copper shield, hosing problems are extremely rare, when
connectors
are properly sealed and the outer jacket is not torn.

The superflex line is also available, like FSJ4-50B and is a 1/2"
type and much more flexible. But it has a spiral formed outer copper
shield which will hose water.

For more details call ANDREW at 1-800-255-1479
