I get mine right from the hardware, I buy a hard grade stainless steel
bolt. Bolt heads are marked with a stamped code that indicates hardness.
Thread pitch is unimportant in this application, since the bolt is
subjected only to sheering force and not being torqued until it distorts
(like in automotive application like wheel lugs or connecting rod bolts).
Just don't crank the bolts down until the leg starts to collapse, and
you'll be OK. These aren't connecting rod bolts that require a hundred
thousand pounds of pre-load.
