I would vote for installing everything correctly initially and then
following up with an annual inspection of everything.
VE7SZ has a nice aggressive 3 tower station and experienced some sort
of failure every year. For the last 2 years we've done a real thorough tower
and antenna system inspection and he hasn't had any problems since.
