I ordered the 20 meter Isotron from Bilal compnay in Colorado this morning.
I would like to hear from others that have experience with this antenna,
specifically the 20 meter one. I have met some fellas on the air on both 40
and 20 who run them and claim they really perform every bit as good as a
dipole at the same height. I also ran into some others who tried them on 80
and 160 and said they made great dummy loads on those bands. I would imagine
that the ant would really need to be up in the air at least a 1/4 wave
regardless of band in order to work reasonably well. This may be a problem
on 160 and 80 for some folks.

I will be comparing the 20 meter isotron to my roof mounted 20 meter ground
plane vertical. if it looks like it is a performer the plan is to phase two
of the Isotrons a la' HB9CV and then add a parasitic director such as Bill
W4RNL has written up on his web page. I might buy a third isotron and tune
it a little high to act as the director. I have lots of aluminum of various
diameters for the boom.

I'll post my findings to the group. I would love to make a sked with some
folks on 20 meter ssb to do some A-B tests.

I can be reached at zeitler@ibm.net or 619-470-6528 before 11pm during the
day and pls not earlier than 7 am in the morning if anyone would like to set
up a sked. The antenna will be going out UPS on thursday (hopefully) from
Colorado via 3 day select so should be here early next week.
