Hi Jim.  
I had a quad up here for a long time till the wind blew it into
the next county.  It was at 30 feet and worked quite well.  One
thing you can do in an ice area is to put the quad in a diamond
configuration so the water tends to run down and off instead of
just hanging on the flat wires.  73
