Thanks for all the reply's. I got a lot of responses, and it looks like the
majority prefer the crossed string method, the first thing I came up with.
I thought I'd ask though 'cause sometimes you can't see the forest for the
trees. Bill, W9OL, that's a really clever idea using a ball to find the
center of the tube or plate. My rotor's already mounted in the section
though, so I'll have to file that idea for another day! A couple
respondents asked why I didn't just use a carpenter's level placed against
the side of each of the tubes. Well, if you have a few guy's (no pun) on
hand, each can tweak their respective turnbuckles while you watch the plumb
bob. This seems much easier than going from tube to tube with a level.
