Why worry? It will make no difference in anything.

That's for a different reason. Spitters REQUIRE termination to keep
losses predictable, and so the input port looks like the designed
impedance. They require terminations that are the system design
impedance.
Switches do not. They care less about the open ports in unused
positions.

What application? With a splitter, it needs to be a resistance of the
line Zo. With a switch, all the termination cap will do is keep the
connector from getting wet if it is raining in the room.
