Hi Barrie -
The comment was to point out that the 3/40 part is a "shorty-forty", as
compared to a full-size 3-el 40. As such, its performance is somewhat lower
than that of a full size. On the other hand, it doesn't add 350 pounds and
$3,000 to the antenna.
