One; but it requires a tuner.

Assuming your goal is DX, can you arrange to put up a horizontal loop?  They 
can be close to the ground and still give you a lot of low angle radiation.  
Low noise, too.

You can A/B-switch between the loop and the vertical, and select whichever one 
is better.
